Adopt an International Student for Thanksgiving
As a family or a member of a life group, it would be a great opportunity to invite an international student to join your family for Thanksgiving. Many of these students have never seen a Christian home and are alone for this holiday. Families or life groups interested would be matched to an international student from USC and be responsible for contacting the student(s), picking up and dropping off the students and sharing a Thanksgiving meal with them.
We are looking for volunteers to host international college students from USC for a Thanksgiving meal at their homes. We will have an interest meeting and training on Sunday, October 26 from 1-2 p.m. in Room 30. Lunch is provided. Register here.
Providing Supplies
If your life group or you would like to serve in other ways such as providing supplies, etc., please contact us and we would love to have a conversation with you.
For questions, please email the CA leaders of this ministry at ca.istudents2025@gmail.com.
If you are interested in being a part of these regular outreach events, please sign up here.

Tithing & Generosity: A 12-Day Devotional Guide
Why Tithing Matters
Tithing means giving back 10% of your income to God. But tithing isn’t just about money—it’s about trust, obedience, and worship. In the Bible, God calls His people to honor Him with their firstfruits. This 12-day devotional is designed to help you explore what Scripture truly says about giving and generosity and how it can shape your heart and habits.
What’s Inside the Devotional
Each day features a short devotional that includes:
- A passage of Scripture
- Personal reflections and encouragement from Lead Pastor Tom Hughes
- Practical teaching to debunk common myths about tithing and giving
Whether you’ve never tithed before or you’re looking to refresh your understanding, this guide will help you align your giving with God’s Word and His heart.
Start the Journey
If you want to grow in your understanding of biblical generosity, we invite you to download this free 12-day devotional guide. It’s a simple and meaningful way to deepen your faith and discover the joy of giving.

Baby Dedications
What is a Baby Dedication?
“Teach your children to choose the right path, and when they are older, they will remain upon it.” Proverbs 22:6
It is our tradition to follow the example of many families in the Bible, including Jesus’ family, and dedicate our children to God when they are born. The dedication is a symbol of choosing to raise our children to know and follow Jesus, and it’s a way of welcoming them into the larger family of Christian Assembly. Together, with parents, we want to do all we can as a community to ensure that our little ones grow up in a church where they know they are loved, where they know the good news of Jesus and where they know they can grow to be all that God has planned for them to be.
Families and friends are welcome to join you in the service when you dedicate your child. Cameras are welcome as well. We encourage you to make the moment special and memorable for you and your family.
To Dedicate Your Baby:
- Your baby must be less than 1 year old. If you have adopted a child and would like to participate in the dedications, please contact us at: 323-255-2516.
- Click here to fill out a Baby Dedication Form
- Once your request is turned in, a CA staff member will contact you to confirm the Dedication.
- You will be receiving a letter explaining more of what a Baby Dedication means for you and your child.
Note: We are able to accommodate 5 families per service, so we ask that forms are submitted as soon as possible.
2025 BABY DEDICATION DATES:
November 8th and 9th - Forms are due October 27th
We dedicate babies during our weekend services. Please submit your request form at least two weeks prior to the date of the dedication. (You can submit your form as early as you’d like) For more information about baby dedications email us at kids@cachurch.com
We love babies and celebrate with parents who come to dedicate their little ones. Dedication is the commitment of parents to raise their children to know and follow Jesus Christ. If this is your pledge, then we are honored to be a part of this experience with you!
Please Note: We cannot guarantee which pastor from our staff will do your baby dedication. We are confident that each member of our pastoral staff is equipped to perform your baby dedication and will be excited to celebrate with you for this special occasion.
